Common Questions

How does the scan work?

Slably uses a multi-stage pipeline: perspective detection finds the card in your photo, perceptual hashing compares it against a 32,000-card catalog, a CNN embedding disambiguates close matches, and OCR confirms the card number printed at the bottom. The whole pipeline runs on our servers — your device just sends the image and waits for a result.

Why did Slably misidentify my card?

Most misidentifications come from heavy glare on a holo card, a card photographed inside a thick toploader with reflections, or extreme cropping. Try:

• Cleaner lighting (avoid direct overhead reflection)
• Holding the camera parallel to the card
• Removing the toploader if possible
